​"Green Light Education Assistance Program"

Since 2010, the Green Light Program has encouraged students to study hard and to graduate from high school.  Some graduates have won scholarships to technical schools or universities. The majority of students are from rural areas where education was not a priority for parents as they were growing up due to poverty and the necessity to work. Facilitators, often mothers, are trained to follow each student's progress and to report results to the program coordinator. They also facilitate community projects that benefit the local community.
