CAPD has long-standing relationships with our community partners in Colombia. We have supported FANDIC since its inception in 1997 and ASODISPIE since 2003. Our goal is help our partners achieve their mission and objectives, and to be leaders in their communities. Our partners reciprocate by assisting CAPD implement our Green Light Education Assistance and Safe Water for Families initiatives.

FANDIC FANDIC

    Fandic provides health, education and recreation programs for approximately 40 children with disabilities, their siblings and their mothers in one of the poorest sectors of Bucaramanga. Learn more by clicking on 'FANDIC' and 'Snapshot of FANDIC'.


ASODISPIE ASODISPIE

ASODISPIE is a Disabled People's Organization composed of 100 members with all types of disability, ages and both genders. They are located in Piedecuesta.

Water Projects

Promotion of Safe Water for Families Program began with Rotary to Rotary projects in 2007, using the BioSand water filter.


Green Light Education Assistance Program 2010

In 2010, 81 children received school uniforms, shoes and school supplies in three zones and 195 children were funded to eat lunch in the school restaurant in five schools located in a rural area.

 


Physiotherapy students and children get down to business in FANDIC's newly constructed therapy room. FANDIC purchased and modified a house with funds from Canadian donors.


ASODISPIE purchased this bus with funds provided by a matching grant from the Government of Alberta, Canada.

A brother and sister represent all 98 children receiving uniforms, shoes and school supplies with their show of appreciation.
